About me

Hannah Preil - Maternity Mentor

Hannah Louise Preil

I am a Mentor, Doula, Parent, Maternity Support Practitioner (MSP) and amplifier of connection in the community.  In addition to my BeboMia MSP qualification, I also have a KGHypnobirthing Diploma, Masters in Sustainability and a background in transformational change in the healthcare sector.

I live in Zurich, Switzerland with my husband and three young children.  I became passionate about supporting parents after having personally experienced 3 different vaginal deliveries and one loss in the space of 5 years.  As a non Swiss German speaker, I realised that there is a huge void in the support and information available in English and decided that i wanted to use my skills to help others in a similar position.

I have been providing Maternal support for over 4 years and specialise in supporting parents to feel empowered on their journey from conception to post partum.

Picture this....

You're about to embark on the grand adventure of childbirth, and suddenly, in walks your doula, looking like Mary Poppins with a side of sass.  What does a doula do, you ask?

Well, they're not there to whip out a spoonful of sugar, but they might just sprinkle some wisdom and witty one-liners to ease your nerves.

Think of a doula as your very own guardian angel of the delivery room, armed with coffee, relaxation techniques, and an uncanny ability to make even the most intense contractions feel like a walk in the park.

They'll be your birthing buddy, your moral support, and your go-to guru for all things pregnancy, labor and post natal related.

Attention all expat mums-to-be in Zurich!

Are you ready to navigate the wild world of childbirth in a foreign land?

Fear not, for I bring you tidings of great comfort and joy– I’m here to extole the importance of having support when you're about to pop out a tiny human on foreign soil!

Now, picture this:   you're in the delivery room, surrounded by doctors and nurses with Swiss accents thicker than a steaming bowl of porridge. Suddenly, in walks your trusty sidekick – your doula!  They may not have a passport, but they’ve been there and done it 3 times personally. With a heart full of British pluck and a knack for turning even the most chaotic labour ward into a scene straight out of Downton Abbey, you know you’re in good hands.

So, to all you brave souls about to embark on the childbirth adventure of a lifetime in a land far, far away from home, remember this: a doula by your side is like having a cup of English breakfast tea – comforting, familiar, and absolutely essential for surviving the madness, with your sanity intact.
